ABOUT
ABOUT

Matt is an architect based in New York City and Berlin. His work is focused on the relationship between infrastructure, environmental performance, and construction. Working across scales from installations and bridges to public buildings and urban systems, he explores the role of physical systems as generators of architectural form, material expression, and human experience. His work spans the full spectrum of the design process, from early-stage visioning and conceptual design through technical development and construction. Drawing upon a foundation in both architecture and structural engineering, he approaches design as an integrative discipline of structure, environmental performance, material assembly, and construction methodology. This perspective has informed projects ranging from long-span pedestrian bridges and transportation infrastructure to civic landmarks, public buildings, research facilities, and experimental structures. Over the course of more than twenty-five years, Matt has held design and leadership roles within internationally recognized architecture and engineering practices, contributing to award-winning projects across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. His work has been realized through close collaboration with public agencies, engineers, fabricators, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams, and has received international recognition through numerous publications and industry awards, including the UNESCO Prix Versailles Special Prize and the AIA COTE Top Ten Awards.
